‘The Black Eyed Peas’ will soon celebrate 20 years together
The 41-year-old multi-talented artist. will.i.am, talked about The Black Eyed Peas and potential plans to reunite the group with Fergie. Although she was not involved with the band’s recent reunion in April, hopes are high to bring her back as the only female vocalist.
In a recent interview with Q magazine, he said, “In 1995, we performed with The Black Eyed Peas without Fergie. So in my memory bank, that’s The Black Eyed Peas. Of course we are going to perform with Fergie when that version of The Black Eyed Peas comes together. But until then, we are still going to perform with The Black Eyed Peas circa 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 … I can’t wait to perform with Fergie again. Is she just too busy at the moment? We all have these separate things that we’re doing. I don’t know what ‘too busy’ is.” Fergie joined the group in 2003 for the Elephunk LP.
Meanwhile, Fergie is currently working on her next solo album, recently releasing her artwork with the song title M.I.L.F.$. online.
The Black Eyed Peas will soon reunite for their 20th anniversary, but Fergie was not sure whether she would be involved considering her late arrival to the long-running group.
She said, “I was in the studio and heard something will was doing and it was great. But maybe the guys are doing something? I haven’t been in the group for 20 years, so it’s more their anniversary of being together for 20 years. So maybe they’re putting out an album themselves.”
