Their love of animals ultimately brought them together
Dave Franco revealed how he knew actress Alison Brie was the one for him when he moved into her apartment and was allowed to bring his cats.
On The Late Late Show with James Corden, he said: “At one point I was the single guy who had two 17 pound cats. That’s not the most enticing thing for most girls. So, my cats essentially weeded out like 95 percent of my potential mates. And ultimately I met Alison, she is a cat lady, thank God.”
He continued telling the story, adding: “At one point I went up to her and was like, ‘I know were not officially living together but can I move my cats into your place?’ She was up for it … and I think that was the moment I knew I would marry this woman!”
The couple got engaged in August 2015 and have considered eloping. He previously opened up about it, sharing: “We keep kinda paring it down – to the point we might elope. Who knows? I don’t need a big wedding. I don’t want a big wedding.”
While Brie talks about Franco as her “incredible fiancé,” the actress said there was a time she was not interested in marriage.
“I have an incredible fiancé. He’s so wonderful. He’s just the sweetest man I know. And he’s so funny and incredible in every way. I never wanted to get married. I was just like, ‘Well that’s not my path in life, because I’m choosing this crazy lifestyle.’ Then, you know, I fell in love,” she revealed.
