The ‘Shallows’ actress revealed she still misses the CW drama
Blake Lively recently talked about Gossip Girl and how much she still misses the hit series. In fact, she revealed that a reunion would be highly enjoyable for her and all supporting cast members.
The actress played Serena van der Woodsen in the CW drama until it ended its run in 2012.
She told E! News’ Marc Malkin: “I don’t know, it would be fun. We had such a great time doing that that I think we all would really enjoy that.”
When Malkin expressed how much he misses the show, Blake couldn’t help but agree, adding: “I miss it sometimes, too!”
The Shallows star also explained what her fictitious character could be up to had the show stayed on the air.
“She’s probably on vacation, living it up… She hasn’t been in touch,” she jokingly stated.
Gossip Girl, which ran for 12 seasons, hasn’t been considered for a comeback by executive producer Josh Schwarz.
He added: “We haven’t really explored some of those conversations. Maybe, I don’t know. We haven’t really thought about it.”
However, the director is open to new ideas for a potential revival thanks to the fact that the Internet has advanced so much. He pondered the inclusion of Snapchat and other social media platforms into the show as a means of giving it new life.
Prior to Blake landing the role of Serena, it was revealed that Rumer Willis had been in talks with the CW to play the part.
Casting director David Rapaport revealed: “I think the network initially pitched us Rumer Willis for Serena.
I love Rumer, she’s grown into quite an amazing actress and person, but that, to me, was based on protecting the investment of a television show where creatively, these lesser-known girls really captured the essence of the show and carried it for six years.”
