Diesel: "Coming into shooting Fast 8, I knew that it was gonna be a darker road."
In a rather touching Instagram post, Vin Diesel honored the late Paul Walker as he prepared to shoot Fast 8, the newest film in the long-running franchise.
The 48-year-old actor shared a photo of the two sitting side by side during the filming of the previous movie.
Moreover, Diesel talked about a heartwarming encounter he recently had with one of the crew members via the popular social network.
“Many of the crew members who have worked on several of the past Fast films are here again to help us make something special,” He continued, “One of them at the end of the week came up to me and said wow what we are capturing on film is excellent… And then looked at me and said Paul would be proud.”
Earlier this week, the actor had also shared a video disclosing his emotions and how he felt about filming the latest installment without the late Paul Walker.
“Coming into shooting Fast 8, I knew that it was gonna be a darker road,” Diesel said in the video. “It’s amazing how regardless of how successful you are, that you have to go into a dark place to channel a character — to feel a character.”
He continued, “So, I’m grateful that I have this gym here to escape and kind of balance my emotions, so that I can be effective but try not to take the pain with me.”
Fast 8 will bring several new faces to the ongoing franchise, including Hollywood heavyweight Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood. They will join existing cast members Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson.
The anticipated film is expected to hit theaters in 2017.
