The talented celebrity also discusses her disgust with dating and trust.
Selena Gomez has been in the spotlight most of her life. The actress, singer, fashion designer and philanthropist is best known for her singing career and years of dating Justin Bieber on and off.
The young, talented personality recently kicked off the Revival tour, which landed her on the cover of the June 2016 issue of Marie Claire. An engaging interview with Marie Claire gave her the opportunity to talk candidly about whom she is and her relationships.
It was noted that due of her relationship with Justin Bieber, it seems to be the only topic anyone had wanted to discuss for a while – not to mention being close friends with Taylor Swift, who makes headlines almost weekly.
Among the frustration of relationships being the only thing asked about, she stated, “I would try to promote something that I loved, and the entire interview would be about my personal life. I would leave a room feeling defeated, feeling embarrassed, but I would always make sure to put that smile on my face because I wasn’t going to let them get to me.”
When asked how she feels about her current dating life, Selena said, “I’ve been dating. I’ve been having the best time. But I don’t trust anybody, so dating can only be fun if I know I’m going to have fun.”
From child star to 23-year-old sensational pop star, Gomez worked hard to build a brand for herself over the years. Concerning the decision-making process as a prominent celebrity, including agent intervention, she stated, “Authenticity is my life. They make great choices, but I make the decisions.”
