The 78-year-old actor/comedian faces over a dozen allegations across multiple states, forcing him to hire several lawyers as a result.
One of the most popular subjects about Bill Cosby lately revolves around sexual assaults by using sedatives on his accusers. Although known and loved for decades as a comedian and creator of famous animated children’s characters, he’s lost a large amount of supporters and prestigious honors as a result.
As most already know, Cosby has been sued by multiple women for sexual assault allegations of varying degrees and detail. Because his wife, Camille, has been his long-time business manager, she’s also now involved with the ongoing investigation, which was ruled by a judge a few months ago.
With an estimated net worth of about $400 million, the general media expects a large amount of legal fees under the actor’s belt over the coming years.
As the allegations spread across several states, Cosby, 78, has multiple lawyers working on different aspects of the case in different states. Many of the lawsuits against him were essentially barred from the statute of limitations. An unsealed deposition recently made public has led to even more litigation against the actor/comedian. Along with civil battles involving at least ten women in Massachusetts, Michigan and California, Cosby is also fighting a second-degree felony criminal case against him in Pennsylvania.
His wife, 72, recently finished two days of questioning from lawyers in Boston, where seven women are suing for defamation. Her representatives suggest the questions were “outrageous” as the opposition asked her “irrelevant” questions, including details about her sexual relationship with her husband.
