Peyton said he'd always dreamed of going on-on-one with Magic Johnson, but this was not quite what he had imagined.
Wednesday night Peyton Manning appeared on The Tonight Show with Magic Johnson and the two squared off for a one-on-one competition – with eggs. Host Jimmy Fallon challenged the two sports superstars to a game of Egg Russian Roulette. He may be the Super Bowl Championship quarterback, but the Sheriff lost this round to Magic.
The contest involved a carton of eggs, eight hard-boiled and four raw. The object of the game was for Johnson and Manning to smash the eggs on their heads, hopefully finding the hard-cooked ones. The first one to have two raw eggs smashed on their heads would lose.
The ensuing scene is hilarious. Of course, the first two eggs (one for Manning, one for Johnson) were raw. To see two of the major superstars of sports sitting at a desk with raw eggs dripping down their heads is priceless. Manning’s second egg was also raw, making him the loser. Peyton said he’d always dreamed of going on-on-one with Magic Johnson, but this was not quite what he had imagined.
Fallon had to ask about the blank stare from Manning’s brother, Eli, during the Super Bowl game after a Bronco’s touchdown. The “interview” included a lifesize cardboard cutout of Eli that Fallon and Manning had a conversation with. However, in true brotherly fashion, the main answer regarding the blank stare was that he’s seen it frequently and, basically, Eli’s face just looks like that.
