The importance of Virtual reality is highlighted by the amount of focus given to it in Facebook’s annual F8 shareholder conference. Virtual Reality will be a game changer not only in the expected gaming and social networking but will also revolutionise the way people do business. The technology itself is advancing at such rapid pace that technology five years from the first break trough will make the previous one look like Stone Age technology.

Training
Imagine being able to train workers with virtual reality. From army soldiers to worker in a factory, everyone can be trained with near reality experience. This will not only magnify the trainee base by order of magnitudes but will also reduce the cost of training for the employers. According to Jeff Kagan, an independent analyst VR could, “ let every company be able to train every person, more often than ever. This would make every company more competitive”.
Remote Working
VR will also completely revolutionise the way employees interact with workers, allowing better communication between the two. According to Rob Enderele, another analyst, VR “could make the worker feel more like a part of the meeting or a part of the team,”. Enderele also noted that VR could also be used to ensure that remote workers were productive and not slacking off during work hours.
Business Travel
VR could literally put an end to all the business travel. With better VR technology there would be lesser need for business travels for both executive and the worker. This could mean lesser costs and better efficiency. Kagan noted that VR would not eliminate ‘business travel but “ will reduce business travel as long as companies use it well”.
Sales
VR will revolutionise how sales are made. People could decide which smartphone to buy after testing in VR. Car sales could be done with VR. But most of all it will give the salespersons the flexibility is showcasing their products to an ever larger group. Al the anxiety before buying something could be wiped out by testing the products in VR.
Orders
Finally, VR will revolutionise the way orders are made, one could order a pizza by directly talking to the waiter and could instruct the particular way they would like the pizza to be made. This is truly revolutionary change as it will alter the way people interact.
