Agents of SHIELD returns awaiting to see if Skye will keep her inhuman secret

ABC has released a promo/spoiler clip of the Agents of Shield season 2 episode 12 ‘Aftershocks ‘that returns for a 12-week run of uninterrupted episodes. Tonight episode is likely to wrap up plenty of questions especially on whether the team will turn against the Skye (Chloe Bennet).

The last time you might have watched the series, the mysterious object only known as Divider had transformed Skye and Raina (Ruth Negga) into something inhuman through the process of Terrigenesis. The team returns in episode 12 after suffering from a major loss, with Skye trying to come to terms with her newfound abilities that continue to cause a series of earthquakes that she is unable to control.

Sif is to return in episode 12 as Coulson, and the rest of the team try to discover a life-changing secret. However, it won’t be an easy secret to keep. Executive producers compare Skye’s journey in the back to a superhero’s origin story. The producers admit that they will try to grow Skye as a character and as agent giving the series a new start while in a new world of inhuman.

Coulson and the team are to come to the rescue of confused lady Sif, who has apparently lost his memory after a massive fight with a mysterious warrior. Bobi and Mac are, however, to continue hiding their true mission from everyone else.

The team continues to mourn the loss of Trip that still haunts Skye having done her best to save him. Elizabeth Henstridge (Simmons) however teases that the death serves as a catalyst for many story arcs going forward. A house divided should start to creep in especially on the uncertainty over Skye potential and the emotional toll of losing Trip. Fractures may appear within the team.

It remains to be seen whether Skye who has just discovered her birthright as Daisy Johnson and met her father Cal will attempt to turn to the scientist for advice.
