The incident happened last year when she was reported to be missing after a night out party with friends.
She was lost for a month after her body was found hardly ten miles away from the incident location.
She was an 18-year-old teen studying in Charlottesville, Virginia. She sent her last message to her friend saying I am lost at 1am before she finally disappeared.
Matthew was suspected for her murder after the forensic reports confirmed the presence of his DNA found on her black t-shirt which she was seen wearing last time.
Her body remains were found on October 10, 2014 at the spot which was less than ten miles away from the place she went missing.
The 33-year-old Matthew is charged with six major charges on him including first degree murder, abduction and sexual abuse.
He however denies all the charges on him and says he is not guilty and doesn’t hold any connection with her.
Matthew was earlier held in 2005 for physical assault of women in wooden area who was walking to her home from the grocery store.
She was dragged mid-way and physically assaulted. Matthew hasn’t confirmed any of the claims on him and still stands by his words of no involvement in any of the charges however the proof and DNA reports don’t say so.
