Today, on November 14, 2014, a Pune-based school girl’s artwork is featured as Google 4 Doodle to celebrate children’s day.
The sixth edition of Doodle 4 Google competition of Google India was held recently. Several youngsters participated in this competition.
Out of them, only 12 were selected as the finalists. From the final 12, Vaidehi Reddy, a Pune school girl was selected as the winner.
The theme of this Google Doodle competition was ‘A place in India I wish to visit’. Vaidehi Reddy depicted an amazing artwork revealing the aesthetics, art and culture of Assam and got the award of the winner.
Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14 each year to rejoice the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.
This year is the 125th birthday of this legendary freedom fighter who was popularly known as Chacha Nehru to the kids.
Google decided to celebrate this 125th year in a special way with special Doodle 4 Google created by the children only. As a result Google announced about this competition.
This year children’s day Doodle will remind you about the rich cultural heritage and natural landscape of one of the north-east state of India, Assam.
It depicts the national animal of India, the Tiger, and also the one-horned Rhinoceros. The Doodle also displays the lustre of greens of the tea gardens and the bamboo trees.
Even the Assamese women performing the Bihu dance is also presented in the artwork.
Doodle is extremely colourful and bright that will definitely attract the eyes of the people.
