Day three of the Australia-Pakistan encounter set some perfect example on how things could topple in a five-day match.
The record matching ton from David Warner hardly proved good as the Aussies proved too submissive to the rather inexperienced Pak side.
It all ended in a different way from the point at which the day has begun. Warner had his blade do the talking as he hammered the ball around the Dubai International Stadium, and cards were laid for Aussies to swift through the innings with the start.
But at stumps, Aussies were left wondering as to why their opponents stood with a lead of 189 runs.
Starting the day with 113 on scorecards, the Aussie line up was humbled by the Pak bowlers as they could only add 190 more, taking their final score to 303.
Yasir Shah bridged the dent for a Pak side reviving from the absence of Saeed Ajmal with his impressive spell of 3-66.
While on the other end, it was Zulfiqar Babbar and Rahat Ali who silenced their opponents with two wickets each. Follow the Pak vs Aus 1st Test live scores here.
The only succor to Australia was David Warner’s third consecutive ton (133) – the second Australian to do so after Don Bradman. But that rarely brought the smiles on Aussie faces as they were outsmarted by their opponents.
