Bangladesh made it to the semifinals by winning the quarter final match against Kuwait by 203 runs. For the team, it is a huge boost in the confidence, especially after not having won any significant one in recent ones.
While the captaincy of Mashrafee Mortaza will remain crucial, performance of the bowls will also decide the fate. Players like Arafat Sunny and Mahamudullah have bowled well in the last matches, and for the runs, the team can lean on Tamim Iqbal and Anamul haque.
The Sri Lankan side on the other end doesn’t have the best they had, but surely presence of LD Chandimal and CKB Kulasekara will keep the team going.
How new skipper Lahiru Thirimanna takes the team ahead in the crucial stage also remains to be seen. Upul Tharanga is also likely to play a pivotal role.
