The second last day of the group match fixtures looks to be a small scale encounter as the Champions League nears the completion of group round fixtures.
When the time ticks 8:00 PM at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad today, it would be group champion Kolkata Knight Riders who would be facing the opponent from bottom of the table, the Dolphins.
Catch all the action live on Tv channel Star Sports. The live streaming can also be watched at the official website of Star Sports starting 7:30 p.m. India time.
The IPL franchisee will be getting on the turf with minimal concerns after cementing their progress to the semis with 12 points. But neither would they be taking the encounter lightly as skipper Gautham Gambhir would have an eye on carrying on the winning streak.
With KKR emerging the winners in their previous 12 encounters, they would hope the streak not be broken when playing against the Group B opponents.
With no pressure on their shoulders, KKR would also be looking forward to finish off things quite conveniently, which hasn’t been the case in the previous matches.
Though the skipper has praised the character of the squad and is tipped as favorites, things would be different in the knock-out and would only urge his squad to pull off a comfortable win against the Dolphins.
There is no pressure on the opponents either, but only when looked from another perspective. Dolphins have already seen their way out after failing to bag a single point from their previous matches. Follow the live scores here.
It would only be a matter of solace to travel back home with a win. The recent performance may not seem enough as their final encounter shapes up with arguably the best in the tournament.
Though the result not likely to shake up the group table, the KKR-Dolphins match could one of high energy individual battles. Sunil Narine and Robbie Frylinck, both who have delivered the most consistent performances all through the tournament, would be the two key players to have your eyes glued to.
The individual tug-out between Gautam Gambhir and Kyle Abbott would also be worth watching.
