Overjoyed and overwhelmed are two words that completely define the world tennis champion Serena Williams. Williams won the US Open 2014 making it her 18th major win.
She defeated Caroline Wozniacki, 6-3, 6-3 to make it to the third time winner of the Grand Slam Tournament, the US Open.
This is the sixth time when Serena has won the US Open. Being consistent throughout the tournament, Serena received an 18-karat gold bracelet from Evert and Navratilova after the match. The famous tennis player choked on saying the word 18.

Serena was not doing very well before the tournament as such thereby adding immense pressure of the game on her. Though a close match Williams in the end managed to escape with the trophy to the end.
Both the players took the match in the sporting spirit and shared a joke or two after the match was over. Wozniacki even congratulated Williams saying, “You definitely owe drinks later.”
Such gestures take the game to a higher level increasing the authenticity and the credibility of the game.
Williams, who turns 33 this month, is four major championships behind Steffi Graf for the Open-era record, and she was asked if she was thinking about 22. Williams had not advanced past the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament this year, and over the last two weeks she had expressed relief and excitement at her success at the U.S. Open.
The Grand Slam Star as people refer her is on cloud nine after winning the 18th trophy.
Congratulations from us.
