After a win in the only test, India women are all set to take on England women for the first ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship at Scarborough on August 21, 2014.
The match starts off at 10:30 a.m. local time (3:00 p.m. India Time).
Coming straight from the test win at Wormsley, visiting India women will be looking to snatch the first ODI from the home team.
Indian women have been playing some phenomenal cricket, and their last test win is the first one coming in eight years. For a team where 8 of the 11 players are playing in England for the first time, the win certainly brings in a lot of confidence.

Given that Team India men aren’t getting their due in recent times, India women have done their bit, much of which’s credit goes to skipper and star player Mithali Raj.
Going by the record of ODIs, India women never had the edge over England Women, something that can worry the team. In all the 25 games played between both in England, India had only won four so far.
For Mithali, the task is tough given that most players lack the experience. They had lost the warm-up encounter in the same format, so it is time for some changes.
India has Jhulan Goswami and Karuna Jain to look forward to, but the management hasn’t released the final team list as yet, which is expected to have names of Thirush Kamini, Smriti Mandhana, Poonam Raut among others.
