The much awaited, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ created a stir on Thursday, August 7, 2014 when it was released. The movie started its weekend with a bang, earning $4.6 million. It has given a splendid performance at the box office and is sure to do even better in the coming days.
There are a few other movies also lined up for this weekend but the Ninjas have the power to over shadow all and come out victorious. Though the sad part is that the film does not have much to be compared to but it is being compared to the last year’s hit, ‘Wolverine’.
Wolverine earned a handsome amount of $4 million on its opening Thursday while TMNT has made even more, $4.6 million. The later is a kid friendly property and the idea that it isn’t a sequel but an entirely “new” composition makes it all the more special and worth a watch.
Keeping in lieu the profits that the ‘Wolverine’ made last year if the movie continues to go as planned and as things seem currently the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will reach robust start of $61 million.
By the end of the weekend it should be able to hit the $80 million benchmark.
Expected to be as big as possible the audiences are already going crazy over the release and are rushing to the theatres to watch the Ninjas play their moves. The other movies with the Ninjas have always been big hits and this time its going to be huge.
