Ford’s latest release for budget-conscious buyers in India has been confirmed by the automaker – the new-generation Figo will go into production in the spring of next year.
This week saw the launch of the new Ford Figo KA for buyers in Brazil – the same car that will debut next year in India under the name of the Ford Figo 2015. Essentially a new hatchback version of the popular Ka, the Figo was launched for a price of 35,390 BRL (INR 9,53,750) for the entry-level SE trim with options ranging up to the SEL model at 39,990 BRL (10,77,791).
Driver and passenger conveniences have been stepped up a gear across the board, with refinements including electric front windows and new-generation power steering as standard. All models will also come with USB and Bluetooth connectivity and air conditioning as standard.
Assembly is expected to begin toward the beginning of Q2 next year at Ford’s Gujarat plant, ahead of an as-yet unconfirmed release date.
