Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the music legend Elvis and Priscilla Presley, has decided to end her marriage of 10 years to Michael Lockwood. The 48-year-old singer and songwriter also wants full custody of their children.
Presley has four children, including Riley and Benjamin, who are both in their twenties. Finley and Harper, her 7-year-old twin daughters, are currently with Lockwood.
Although she had just filed for divorce this week, reports say the couple has been separated since June 13. The divorce papers stated “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the request. The news was confirmed by her representatives, according to People.
Lockwood routinely produced Presley’s recordings, performed and toured with her in the past.
The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s daughter reportedly did not ask for spousal or child support. A source said, “She doesn’t want any of his money.” Claims also suggest the two have a post-nuptial agreement. However, she will allow Lockwood to visit the children while being monitored.
Presley was married four times before, which included sharing nuptials with Nicolas Cage and Michael Jackson, before ending up with Lockwood in 2006.
Having tied the knot in Japan, the couple enjoyed a traditional Japanese ceremony.
Aside from her artistic work, Presley jumped to the spotlight thanks to her father’s recognition and due to the high-profile relationship and marriage to Michael Jackson in 1994. The artist also made headlines in 2013 when she and Lockwood left the Church of Scientology after having received harsh criticism.
