The FIDE World Chess Championship, Sochi is slowly reaching its middle stage, and if it goes like this, the tournament will witness the most competitive moments in the history of Chess.
Magnus Carlsen, the defending champion is now leading with 3.5 points, whereas India’s ‘Challenger’ Viswanathan Anand has 2.5 points in his account.
Magnus Carlson won the fifth game which was conducted on Saturday. The game was pretty one sided, and Magnus Carlsen dominated the game from the early minutes through his intense attacks.
Things were about to take a turn in the 26th move when the defending champion committed the blunder of the century. But Viswanathan Anand failed to notice this wrong move, and he thus spoiled the chance to obtain an unexpected win.
Things got more worse when Anand did one or two pathetic moves continuously. The Indian was defeated at the 36th move of the match.
Game 8:
Carlsen will be playing with the white blocks in the seventh game on 17th November 2014. Viswanathan Anand will find it hard to regain his momentum after the loss in the sixth game.
But the veteran think tank have some speed gaming as his skill set, and this is sometimes capable to dethrone even the mightiest emperor in the history of chess.
On the other hand, it is not the same Carlsen who made Anand shiver in Chennai last year. The Norwegian is committing more and more errors this time, and if Anand succeeds to figure it out, then he will win the title for sure.
The official website of FIDE World Chess Championship, Sochi will be live streaming this high octane clash.
