The US Open that sparked off on August 25, 2014 brings in the tennis season of the year, where top players are looking for command on a tournament that has been seeing different reigning players every time.
Watch the live streaming of all matches only on US Open Live official site here.
Watch all the matches live on CBS and ESPN in US, Eurosport in Europe, and WOWOW in Japan. In India, the matches will be live on Ten Sports, while CCTV has the telecast rights for China.
Fans in Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America can watch the match on ESPN International. Fox Sports will be live telecasting in Australia.
Of the three women and men who have won the Grand Slam singles titles, it is sad that two of them will not be playing the US open this year. The names include Rafael Nadal and Li Na, both out due to injuries.
Strangely, none of the men have been on a winning streak in 2014. The only player who can boast the best is Novak Djokovic, who won 13 of the all played between March and April. Li, who too had a run of 13 between January and February, is missing out.
Fans around the world are expecting former number 1 and current number 3 Roger Federer to win it all, especially when his main contender Nadal is out due to a wrist injury.
Other men to watch for are Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria and Milos Raonic of Canada. Raonic has managed to reach the fourth round of US Open in last two years, while Dimitrov never won a match in the tournament, but did manage his Slam semifinal debut at Wimbledon.
Among the women, Serena Williams may become the first women to win three consecutive U.S. Opens, but with her recent performances, one has to wait for the happenings before predictions.
The list cannot be complete without naming Maria Sharapova and Eugenie Bouchard, although both have had hard times at the court. Current number 3, China’s Li Na will be out for a knee injury.
