HTC has officially unveiled the HTC One M8s, a smartphone released as a affordable brother of the HTC One M9. HTC One M8s is definitely not a mid-range smartphones but it is neither a flagship as well. HTC One M8s will be available at different regions in Europe, and it will cost £379.99 without any contract in the United Kingdom. Although, there is no word on when it will be available but we can expect it to be out there before the holiday season.
HTC One M8s is very, very similar to the HTC One (M8) when it comes to design. However, it comes with a slight changes under the hood. It features a Full HD in 5” with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM space with micro SD card support, and 13 megapixel dual cameras for the back and a 5 megapixel camera for the selfies. Another major difference is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, and also an increase 2,840 mAh battery . It will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense on top.
It seems the purpose behind its release is how HTC wants to offer interested customers more choices when it comes to their smartphone. HTC One M8s is a better version of One M8 in a sense, as it was highly criticized because of its poor camera. HTC changed the camera in the new version, and quality might be much better this time. Also, its price tag is way cheaper compared to the One M9, so it can also mean that HTC is planning to target the market which cannot afford the flagship version, or other expensive smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S6.
