The third day of the First Test between Pakistan and New Zealand will begin at 11.30 AM in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, the Kiwis closed the second day of the test at 15/0. Pakistan had scored a mammoth 566/3 in their first innings.
The hosts declared the innings with just seven overs remaining in the second day. For New Zealand, Brendon McCullum and Tom Latham are batting with 9 and 5 runs respectively.
The visitors still trail by 551 runs, and this has added the heat to a great extend.
Pakistan literally enjoyed the batting friendly pitch in the first and second day of the test.
All their batsmen were in full swing, and they literally punished the Kiwi bowlers to all corners of the ground.
Mohammed Hafeez who had already entered the pavilion four runs short of his century in the first day was followed by Azhar Ali who scored a well made 87.
Ahmed Shehzad scored 176, while Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haw stayed not out with scores of 100 and 102 respectively. This was Younis Khan’s fourth hundred in his last five innings.
Corey Anderson bowled pretty well in the New Zealand side and he picked up 2 wickets by conceding 68 runs. Ish Sodhi took 1-162.
Pakistani bowlers will be looking forward to pick some early wickets of New Zealand in the third day, and if they succeed, they can hope for a win, and thus continue the winning streak they started in Australia.
On the other hand, if New Zealand openers succeed in combating the bowling attack of Pakistan, then the chances of draw will be quite high in this first test match.
