Northern Ireland – Warning of traffic diversions have been given to motorists following the multi – million attendances of people to St. Patrick’s Day. There will be festivities in major towns and cities with a Belfast parade expected to make its way to Custom House Square having started from the City Hall.
There will be closure and restrictions into several roads as two Venues will be hosting the St Patrick’s Festival Funfair. As such, the public has since been put on notice to use public transport since long traffic delays should be of high expectation in Ballsbridge as the Festivities take place.
That said, it is in the afternoon that the traffic should be expected to be at its worst. This will be as a result of the expected Leinster Schools Rugby Cup finals that will be taking place in the RDS between Belvedere College and Cistercian College Roscrea.
There will be normal operations of Metro bus services in Belfast. However, some Ulsterbus services will be operating on a holiday service while Northern Ireland Railways will be operating on a Saturday train timetable.
In honor of Ireland’s patron saint, Stormont which is one of the landmark buildings around the globe will “go green”. This will be the first time in the history of Northern Ireland for the building to go green. This being a family fun day, there will be a “kaleidoscope of color and culture” as promised by Derry City Council.
