From months, the internet is clogged with the number of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S6, but it will be clear when Samsung will officially unveil it during the Samsung Unpacked event in Barcelona on March 1st. That’s the time of the year when Samsung reveals their long-awaited flagship smartphone, and as the Korean manufacturer is facing a huge threat from the iPhone and also how Samsung is losing their market share, rumors are suggesting that Samsung is planning to make a comeback with its full capacity.
Now we have learned more about the Samsung Galaxy S6 as we can see the leaked images of the smartphone in a beautiful clear case.
The images were leaked on WowWee Robotics Group’s Weibo account. What we can learn from these images that there’s a clear camera hump on the back, and LED flash and finger scanner is visible on the side of the camera. Also the back speaker and the headphone jack are at the bottom, just like the iPhone 6.
What else is known that Samsung might be unveiling two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 at the event next month. As Bloomberg reports, one of the variants will have a 3 sided screen which will be known as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, also both variants will have full-metal body and Samsung’s latest and fastest processor. This is probably every Samsung fan’s dream to see a Galaxy smartphone with a metal-body, also it has been Samsung’s weak point since day one as critics use it to mock Galaxy smartphones as ‘cheap’, but the Galaxy S6 might change it forever.
Samsung might be making some changes in the software as well. SamMobile reports that Samsung will make some changes in TouchWiz; the redesign will provide an Android experience close to the stock version and also Samsung will keep it light on the bloatware, allowing users to remove it and making it available for download if they want to. It is also rumored that Samsung made a deal with Microsoft, and the new Samsung flagship smartphones will come pre-loaded with Microsoft apps like Office, Skype and few others. Mentioned below are some other changes the source reports:
- Samsung’s default keyboard app supposedly looks more like a mix between the keyboard on the Galaxy Tab S and the iOS keyboard.
- More theming options are available.
- All Samsung’s apps are more colorful.
- You can select between 4×4, 4×5 and 5×5 icon layouts for the app drawer.
- The app drawer no longer supports endless cycling through the list of apps (meaning you can’t go back from the last page to the first without going back through the previous pages).
- The music app still runs in full-screen mode at all times.
- The dialer app looks “green as grass”, or that’s what we were told.
Both Galaxy S6 variants will be featuring the best of Samsung that we have ever seen but the question remains, will it be good enough to stand against the iPhone 6? We will know that within a month. In the meantime, don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comment box below.
