Tamil movie industry is going through a path of revival. Several experimental movies are getting released in the state continuously, and the audience is always accepting the desired ones with an open heart.
The recent addition to this list of experimental movies is ‘Appuchi Gramam’ directed by Vi Anand.
The craving for difference is clearly evident from the name itself, and the director has succeeded in injecting the uniqueness to the movie as well.
‘Appuchi Gramam’ showcases the story of a village in Tamil Nadu which will be soon hit by a meteor shower.
In normal movies, we will expect high tech labs and government talks on this issue, but in this film, things are entirely different, and the director is taking us for an emotional ride along with the slender hearted villagers.
Vi Anand has portrayed an emotional story in the backdrop of falling meteors. All the characters showcased in the film are believable in nature, and there is no over top heroism in any part of the movie.
The narration of ‘Appuchi Gramam’ is straight forward, and it is simple yet elegant in nature.
The movie portrays the story of different lives in the village which includes, a widowed mother, a driver who is in love with his master’s daughter, feuding families etc.
