Even after four days after Tollywood actress and model Shweta Basu Prasad was arrested on Sunday in a high profile prostitution racket in Hyderabad, none of the businessman who had availed the services of the actress have been arrested.
Prasad immediately accepted that she was doing all this for the sake of money, As per reports, the man who was Shweta’s pimp is an assistant director by name Anjaneyulu (Balu). The money that was charged for Prasad’s services from rich businessman was also revealed, about Rs 1 lakh.
Shweta confessed, “I have made wrong choices in my career, and I was out of money. I had to support my family and some other good causes,”
“I was out of money. I had to support my family and some other good causes. All the doors were closed, and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. I was helpless, and with no option left to choose, I got involved in this act.”
The arrest of the 23-year-old actress shows that there is a dark side in the celebrity world too. Shweta also acknowledged the fact that she was not alone in this business and many other actresses are also involved in this high profile prostituiton rcket.
First Post wrote, “Prasad is allegedly part of a high-profile prostitution ring that included in its list of clients “well-known businessmen”.
“While Prasad’s name is in the headlines, the names of the men who paid for sex have been protected. The details of what happened to Prasad, from being arrested to now living in a rescue home, have been shared by “police sources”. However, there’s nothing to be gleaned from any of the news reports about the men who were Prasad’s customers.”
The India TVNews wrotes, “Providing ‘support to the family,’ or ‘running out of money,’ can these be termed as the signaled reasons to sacrifice upon your dignity? Do you agree that any known face as of Shweta can lie in such a vacuum that nothing but selling out her body was the only spare way?
However, even if this is the case, does your dignity lie above the lure of leisure and luxury?
