Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson surprised fans and movie-goers with a first-look video about the making of Fast 8. More specifically, it briefly shows Johnson along several cast and crew members getting ready to film.

He also posted an Instagram photo showing his Hobbs character with a pointy goatee, a vest, and plenty of muscles. An accompanying caption partially reads:

The actor wanted to introduce a new and darker version of his character in hopes it leads to a spinoff or a similarly promising future. He had already talked about such a possibility in the past, adding:

“If I was going to return for another Fast & Furious I wanted to come in and disrupt the franchise in a cool way that got fans fired up and their blood pumping to see a new version of Hobbs and his ‘Daddy’s gotta go to work’ mentality and set the table in a cool way for where the character goes in the future,” he explained. “Maybe it’s a spinoff movie. Maybe it’s more #FF movies. Or hell maybe Hobbs just gets on his motorcycle and rides off into the sunset never to be seen again.”

Johnson joined the popular franchise in 2010 as federal agent Luke Hobbs, where he quickly earned a big following among fans of the franchise. He has since appeared in subsequent films, including part six and seven.

Fast 8 is slated for release in April 2017. Most of the older cast will make a return, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Tyrese. The movie will also introduce various new characters portrayed by Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron, and Scott Eastwood.

David Schwimmer has been busy promoting his upcoming AMC series, Feed the Beast, where he plays a dark, but comedic chef in trouble with the law. Not only is Schwimmer’s new role different from many others he has portrayed; the actor surely has other talents as evidenced earlier this week.

His promotional efforts led him to The Late Show with James Corden to entertain the audience in an unusual way. Although the talk show host is known for his wildly successful “Carpool Karaoke,” where he rides along with big name celebrities in acting and music, his new Drop the Mic skit is on its way to becoming a smashing success. This week alone included the likes of Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, along with Schwimmer to battle Corden in rap music.

While Wilson won Thursday’s battle among Corden and Schwimmer, his performance was shockingly great as acknowledged by the audience. Corden started strong with, “Millennials, let me introduce you to this guy: His name is David, he was famous in ‘95. He was on TV then, now it’s 2016 and he has no Friends.”

Schwimmer’s response? “A brit in America is your one claim to fame, we all know as an actor your roles were all the same … the heavy best friend, the humorous sidekick with a belly so big you can’t find your ….. Dickens, the author we all read as kids, he’s British like you, but people know he is.”

The Friends actor continued, “Did you think I’d be scared, walk around gingerly when everyone knows your middle name is Kimberley.” That wasn’t a joke or an attempt to rhyme, as Corden’s middle name is, in fact, Kimberley.

Actor Mark Salling was charged on Friday for receiving and possessing child pornography after a thorough investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Authorities seized various digital items including a laptop, a USB flash drive and a hard disk drive from his home. Their findings contained thousands of videos and images depicting sexual acts involving minors.

The indictment indicates that the Salling was in possession of (at least) one video and image of “a prepubescent minor and a minor who had not attained 12 years of age.” In fact, the title of one particular video claimed the child was only 5 years old.

The case has now been transferred to the federal authorities, according to Lt. Andrea Grossman of the LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

“Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed,” U. S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker said in a statement. “Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed, and every time it is viewed,” she continued.

The statement also reminds people that “every defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.”

If guilty, Salling would serve a minimum of five years in federal prison for the charge. Both charges, however, carry a maximum of 20 years behind bars.

The statement also implies that nobody is above the law, including high-profile individuals.

“It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, if you hurt a child you will be held accountable,” said Lt. Grossman. “These images are more than photographs, they are child abuse.”

Salling’s arraignment is set for Jun. 3.

After news broke about Amber Heard and Johnny Depp filing for divorce, more information has come to light regarding their troubled marriage.

It’s been reported that Heard is now asking a judge for a temporary restraining order against Depp after submitting photos of herself showing bruises around her right eye. The court filing happened while Depp was out of the country promoting his new movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass.

An official statement was released through his rep, saying, “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”

The couple’s relationship has been plagued with issues, but not entirely about their love life. The two faced criminal charges in Australia after Heard made false statements regarding their dogs on her immigration card. Australia has strict regulations and guidelines concerning biosecurity, which includes declaring animals when entering the country.

They pleaded guilty to the crime and the charges were eventually dropped with a one-month bond of $1,000 for good behavior. Depp then appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and proclaimed he would go to jail for her.

The romance has now subsided with the divorce and Heard asking for spousal support, but Depp asked the judge to deny the request. TMZ reported that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.

Pink recently made an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show to talk about her new song, Just Like Fire, for Johnny Depp’s Alice Through the Looking Glass. During the interview, the 36-year-old pop singer confessed that she has two celebrity crushes: Johnny Depp and Michael Keaton – excluding husband Carey Hart of almost 10 years.

Pink mentioned she had met Depp once before, but the encounter didn’t go well because she supposedly “can’t talk when she’s in his presence.”

“I didn’t want to meet him. My husband made me meet him, which was so dumb,” Pink confessed. Depp misunderstood what Pink was saying in reference to her contribution to his upcoming movie. She told Kimmel, “I don’t think I nailed it.”

Unbeknownst to Pink, Johnny Depp made an unexpected visit on stage and hugged the singer. He then proceeded to kiss Kimmel on the lips, prompting much laughter from the audience. Pink was visibly embarrassed and red-faced by the surprise visit.

The pop singer spent the majority of her time sitting back and eventually said, “I can’t talk to you!” She avoided eye-contract with Depp, then told the audience, “This is awful!”

After the encounter, the late-night talk show host added, “You just actually turned the color of your hair.”

The pop star had also revealed another embarrassing incident with Hollywood veteran Michael Keaton after spotting him at a restaurant once. “I got under my table and left,” she said.

Pink is known for being a tough, yet graceful rocker. Evidently, though, these two guys proved to be her weakness.

Celebrity blog Gawker was denied motion for a new trial regarding a 2007 sex video in which Hogan is seen in bed with Heather Clem. Gawker was at the center of a costly trial as Hogan blames them for leaking the tape and spreading it over the internet.

Florida judge Pamela Campbell also refused to reduce the amount awarded to Hogan, which came to a staggering $140 million.  However, she would not explain her decision regarding the award.

The trial brought light to whether or not the gossip venue had invaded Hogan’s privacy. A statement released by his lawyer, David Houston, said, “Gawker has failed and continues to fail in recognizing their obligation to Bollea for their reprehensible behavior and method of doing what they call journalism.”

Hogan sued the media company again earlier this month in relation to leaked court documents alleging that the 62-year-old had made racist remarks. As a result, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) company decided to part ways with Hogan. Gawker, however, denies the release of such transcripts.

The wrestler was part of the WWE during the majority of his entertainment career.

Another lawsuit accuses several defendants, including a radio company, talent agents, disc jockeys, and a lawyer of conspiring to release Hogan’s sex tape, causing him emotional distress and economic harm.

The famous wrestler started his career in 1977 with Championship Wrestling in Florida before moving onto other related ventures. He created, financed, and opened a restaurant in 1995 which stayed open for one year, though his entrepreneurial spirit has also led to various films and reality shows.

Johnny Depp and soon-to-be ex-wife Amber Heard had a long courtship and were engaged for a year before marrying in February 2015. To the surprise of many, Heard filed for divorce this week.

The paperwork took place the day Depp’s new movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass premiered. She cited irreconcilable differences, which is often used in divorce filings in an effort to keep personal information private.

Throughout their marriage, Depp and Heard were reported to have had conflicting and busy schedules, making their careers a priority over the relationship. As with many intensely passionate actors, their marriage was rumored to be rocky even before they tied the knot.

Depp, who attended the premiere of The Danish Girl last November, told E! News, “We connect on a lot of levels but the first things that really got me was, she’s an aficionado of the blues. I would play a song, some old obscure blues song, and she knew what it was.” He continued to say, “She’s very, very literate.”

In the beginning, the two kept their wedding and celebration rather intimate with a ceremony at home, followed by further time together on his private island, located in the Bahamas.

The 52-year-old actor had been married before, then moved onto other relationships after failed attempts. He and Vanessa Paradis were together for over 13 years and currently have two children, Jack and Lily-Rose. With an uncanny resemblance to her mother, teenager Lily-Rose is making a name for herself with a modeling and acting career.

Jimmy Fallon recently took Blake Shelton to a local sushi restaurant and made him try the Japanese treat for the first time. Shelton mentioned he had actually tried sushi before, though only cooked.

Fallon subsequently explained what the towel in front of Shelton was used for, adding: “Don’t eat this. It’s a hot towel … you clean your hands with it.”

Before their first course, Fallon introduced him to rice wine, which is typically served warm. He then toasted by saying, “Here’s to good friends, tonight is kinda special.” The country music artist talked about the ‘rice wine’ with his famous country accent and said it tasted like ‘Easter egg coloring.”

The comedy continued as they enjoyed their salmon and tuna-filled sushi. Unbeknownst to the late-night host, Shelton actually liked the raw salmon, although he did not enjoy the plated sashimi that followed.

The third course consisted of shiatsu (fried bait) followed by botan ebi (jumbo prawn). After asking for more ‘rice wine’ several times, a forth course was eventually served. Uni was brought to their table, which is served in a shot.

When asked what the meal contained, the waitress added, “a sea urchin uni shot [or] gonads of a sea urchin.” While Shelton handled the shot impressively, Fallon visibly didn’t enjoy it.

For the final meal, Fallon suggested that Shelton try it first because “he would love it.” Finally, as the television host asked the name of his next hit would be, Shelton replied, “I came here to forget.”

Carson Daly, along with coaches Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton gathered for the season finale of The Voice on Tuesday night.

Alisan Porter was deemed The Voice season 10 winner, making it a first win for Team Christina and the only female coach on the show.

The Voice aired live with a list of award-winning and Rock and Role Hall of Fame artists to join the celebration of crowning a winner and singing some of their newest hits. These included Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, Sia, and Zyn Malik. Christina Aguilera had also performed a duet with Ariana Grande.

The four finalists included Laith Al-Saadi from Team Adam, Alisan Porter from Team Christina, Adam Wakefield from Team Blake and Hannah Huston. Each had the opportunity to bring back three friends among eliminated contestants and sing with them for one final performance.

Throughout the season, each contestant selects a coach who ‘turns their chair around’ in favor of the performer after hearing their song. Finally, America gets involved after each of the teams are down to only a few contestants.

The final four get to win a new automobile, which is sponsored by Nissan. The winner is subsequently selected based on America’s tweets with the hashtag #VoiceSave and the artist’s name.

Alisan Porter started her career early in life on television and as the lead character in the 1991 movie, Curly Sue. She took on a variety of roles and struggled with alcoholism. Porter married her husband, Brian Autenrieth, in 2012 and they currently have two children. She ended the show singing her original song, Down That Road.

The Comic Relief charity, which has raised food scarcity awareness and a substantial amount of money, will air its annual Red Nose Day special on NBC.

As stated on the charity’s official website, “Through the power of entertainment, we raise awareness and money to help kids who need us most at home and around the world. Red Nose Day is on a mission to lift kids out of poverty and has raised over $1 billion globally in the last 25 years.”

Using comedy and their passion to continue the vision of Red Nose Day, a large list of stars will come out to help kids on a live broadcast. These include Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Ellen DeGeneres, Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, and Sarah Silverman. Tracy Morgan, who recently returned to comedy after suffering an accident last year, as well as Key & Peele, will also make an appearance.

Some cast members from The Walking Dead will perform a humorous skit, including Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus.

Other celebrities on the list include Anna Kendrick, Malin Akerman, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Ellie Kemper. Milo Ventimiglia, Tyler Perry, Emma Watson, Trevor Noah, Jay Leno, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Kristen Bell, Rose Byrne, Blake Griffin, Emma Thompson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Danny Trejo, Adam Devine, Steve Buscemi, and Ron Funches.

Comic Relief was founded in 1985 by Richard Curtis and Lenny Henryin to help improve food scarcity in Ethiopia.
