The 2014 World Chess Championship will be held from November 7th – 28th November 2014 in Sochi Russia.
The Championship is closely followed by millions of people all over the world, and this is mainly because of the high octane clash which will happen between defending champion Magnus Carlsen, and the think tank from India, Vishwanathan Anand.
The venue of the match is Olympic Media Center in Sochi, next to the main Olympic Stadium.
Game 1 of the World Championship will begin at 5.30 PM IST (3 PM Local Time, 1 PM CET).

Being the defending champion, Carlsen had direct entry to the World Chess Championship. But Anand played the Candidate’s tournament and grabbed a spot in the Sochi.

The Candidate’s tournament was an eight player double round-robin event which was held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, from 13 March to 31 March 2014.

Vishwanathan Anand came out with flying colors in the Candidate’s tournament, and he became the second former champion, after Anatoly Karpov, to win this title.
Last year, the World Championship was held at Chennai, and Carlson had defeated Anand in his home town, 6.5-3.5 at the end of Round 10 of the 12 scheduled games.
For Vishwanathan Anand, this will be a Championship of revenge, and he is expected to deliver his best to defeat Carlson in spanking passion.
So, from now, the City of Sochi will witness some classic moves on the board. All the days except November 10th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th will have matches, and these seven days are considered as rest days.
