Xiaomi has yet again surpassed in creating the wave for its smartphone launch with the newly released Redmi Note.
The smartphone, which is the third to hit the Indian shores, has now been revealed to have been sold out in 6 seconds on its launch day of Tuesday.
Xiaomi has brought in 50,000 units of the Redmi Note for its debut sales in India, which now awaits the flash sales next Tuesday.
Hugo Barra, global Vice President of Xiaomi, was the one to let out the news as he took the delight to the social networking platform.
Priced at Rs 8,999, Redmi Note is the first smartphone from Xiaomi to fall under the ‘fablet series’ with a 5.5 inch display. 1.6 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 720p HD display and 3200 mAh battery are the tech specs running inside the dual-SIM phone, which also offers storage expansion via the micro SD slot.
Registrations have begun for the next round sales of Redmi Note which will commence the sales at 2:00 PM on December 9th.
Xiaomi is also working on bringing its first ever 4G variant phone in India with the Redmi Note LTE version, priced at Rs 9,999. It would also feature some variations in it hardware, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
A competitive rival to Redmi Note now appears to be the newly launched ZTE Grand S II, which features 5.5 inch display at Full HD displays at a pricing slightly higher than that of Redmi Note.
While Xiaomi is sticking with its exclusive sales on Flipkart, the ZTE Grand S II was launched exclusively on Amazon for a price of Rs 13,999
