Miranda Lambert couldn’t help but break down as she performed Over You, a song she co-wrote with former husband Blake Shelton. The event took place at Tinley Park on July 29th.
Lambert explained to the crowd as they cheered: “I told you I was a mess.”
The star had previously stated the emotional heartaches and subsequent healing she’s endured over the past year.
She revealed via Instagram: “The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing. Of learning to be honest …. Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places … having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings… All of them.”
Lambert also explained how music has served as “medicine” and helped her connect with friends.
“I got to know my guitars…became friends with a pencil and paper … Used melodies to lead me places I had never been … Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey.”
She is currently dating fellow country star Anderson East, while ex-husband Shelton is seeing Gwen Stefani after meeting on The Voice.
Shelton had previously said he wished to have gone into a coma after breaking up with Lambert.
“This time last year, there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me personally. There was a point there where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore. I told people I wished I could go into a coma and wake up a year from now,” he added.
