Ciara and Russell Wilson held a lavish wedding ceremony in Cheshire, England on July 6, accompanied by close friends and family. However, their wedding was not “official” until July 9 once they exchanged vows in Washington, according to E! News.
They returned to the United States and had an official ceremony at a local hotel. 30-year-old singer Ciara wore a custom-made Roberto Cavalli couture wedding gown.
Meanwhile, husband Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks wore a custom-made Giorgio Armani suit. Bridesmaids included Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Rowland.
Wilson had previous said: “To share a special moment and a lifetime with somebody that you truly love and really cares about you is amazing. That’s what everybody is searching for. I found that. I was fortunate and blessed to find that and the best part was watching her walk down the aisle. Just to see her face and the long train she had. And then Earth, Wind and Fire took the night away.”
When asked about the cake, the newlywed husband added: “It was hard to bring back the cake from Liverpool to America, and I’d truly be a fat kid if I did that. I am one already.”
The couple hopes to start a family after Ciara records her new album, though no release date has yet been confirmed.
Wilson stated: “Down the road, I would obviously [want kids]. She does too and hopefully, god willing, as long as they’re healthy, that’s what we pray for and whether it’s a boy or girl, who knows but we’ve got some time for that.” Ciara is already mother to a two-year-old son named Future, Jr.
