Ellie Goulding cancels upcoming shows due to mystery illness

Ellie Goulding has effectively cancelled two festival shows due to ongoing health issues. One performance was scheduled in Latvia, with another in Finland.

The Love Me Like You Do singer was set to perform this Friday and Saturday, but she recently pulled out with hopes of bouncing back soon.

She addressed fans via Twitter, adding: “Am sorry that I had to cancel this weekends festivals. Because of ill-health I’ve been advised to not travel or perform. Il bounce back (sic)”

Goulding was last seen at the Wimbledon tennis championships in London just a week ago, where she appeared in healthy conditions.

This news comes days after canceling two additional shows for her Delirium World Tour because a scheduling conflict in October.

Her promoters, Frontier Touring, added: “Frontier Touring sincerely apologises to all those affected by this cancellation.”

The 29-year-old hitmaker is, however, still scheduled to perform in New Zealand and Australia starting in September. Her next showing is set for July 31 in Chicago.

Goulding – who had broken up with Doupie Poynter this year — had recently admitted to be in need of a career break soon. She added: “I’m still going to be writing, but it’s been so overwhelming the past few years that it’s time to go away for a little bit and be out of the limelight.

“It’s really a commitment, being on the road; you almost put everything on hold — seeing family, seeing friends. I’ve missed so many weddings and births. It will be nice to wake up and know I don’t have anything to do.”
