Rapper Lil Wayne was recently admitted to the hospital as he experienced sickness right before performing at the Las Vegas TAO nightclub. He was admitted to an intensive care unit, but is now recovering.
The latest incident comes after the 33-year-old rapper had a similar incident on a commercial airline flying from Wisconsin to California in June. The aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Nebraska.
Doctors worked to correct the dosage of his seizure medication. Spokesperson Derek Sherron said of his previous incident, “As Wayne’s reps we can confirm that he did experience a minor seizure. Under the guidance of his own doctors, he is now in a stable condition and good spirits. He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes.”
While it was previously confirmed that Lil Wayne suffers from epilepsy, there were concerns that his partying was interfering with his medical issues.
“It’s more of a history of him having seizures than it is him partying and drinking and doing things that would trigger a seizure. He’s been very open and upfront about his seizures and has been suffering from those types of episodes since he was a kid,” an insider explained.
Another source had talked about his previous experience when he was hospitalized in 2013, saying, “I know that when he was in the hospital back in March [2013], that was an eye opening experience for him and changed the way he sees life. He’s young and a lot of people depend on him so it was important for him to keep a brave face but deep down, he was scared. That was a case of him being neglectful toward his health.”
