37-year-old Corinne Bailey Rae is set to work on a musical project with hitmaker Pharrell Williams sometime in the near future.
Pharrell, known as a rapper, writer and producer for a number of artists, met with Rae to discuss the possibility of making music together.
In an exclusive interview with Bang Showbiz, she said, “I love Pharrell. We’ve worked together before and that’s a separate project. But we’d like to work with each other again. I saw him again in February and we talked about it.”
The pair will meet up again on July 10 to help Stevie Wonder for the British Summer Time Hyde Park event.
Rae is inspired by the 43-year-old rapper, singer, song writer and producer. She talked about how he influenced her, saying, “Yeah I just love Pharrell. I love his voice and he’s really charming. I love the beats that he makes and how prolific he is. He’s incredible.”
The award-winning artist teased about several upcoming collaborations; many which fans would not expect her to work with. She said, “People saying, ‘Do you want to write with me?’ ‘Do you want to be on my album?’ So as much as I feel like I’ve finished this album new things are coming through so that is a really nice feeling.”
After some grilling questions about who those collaborations might be with, she revealed, “There’s no one I can really say right now. Just things that people might not expect so that is really nice.”
Pharrell has won multiple Grammy awards over the years. He is currently producing Hidden Figures, an upcoming drama scheduled for release in 2017.
