Nick Carter gave his Instagram followers a peek at what he and the Backstreet Boys are up to. It turns out that Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, A. J. McLean and Howie Dorough were recently assisting Florida Georgia Line with a song for their next project, but the Boys are also hard at work on their own album.
Carter posted a picture with the caption, “In the studio with my @backstreetboys recording a song for @flagaline new album. Also working on the new backstreet album as well. Get ready!!!”
Littrell, the 41-year-old member of the group, also shared on Instagram, “In the Lab … Doing something we’ve never done before … BSB feature FGL … Great record … Comes out late August … “
The Backstreet Boys are planning nine Las Vegas residency shows in the future as a test run, with Carter having previously said, “We have a deal with Live Nation, which is the touring company, and we just signed a nine-show deal to do sort of like a test run in Vegas with the residency. So that’s definitely going to happen, but we’re going to do a trial run first.”
If given the residency, he said, “It would definitely have to be a very big and spectacular show. Thankfully, we have a good catalogue so we can perform all of our hits. That could take up a lot of the show.”
The group’s last studio album, In a World Like This, was released in 2013.
