Ryan Tedder describes himself as the quiet singer who has written songs for the top voices in the industry, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Adele.
With that said, he feels that OneRepublic should be recognized for their achievements. As a result, the 37-year-old lead singer and song writer is getting ready to release his group’s fourth LP.
In a recent interview, he said, “I think I’ve gotten tired of being quiet (achievers) as we have been. I don’t know if another band has done the same kind of numbers with such a low profile. Maybe having a higher profile, and I’m not necessarily talking about fame, would change things and I’m ready for that.”
Tedder decided to focus solely on his group’s new album, but felt he was being selfish by helping his band rather than writing hits for other artists. In the end, needless to say, Tedder feels more confident than ever about being one of the best acts around today.
Talking to News.co.au, the artist was asked if he would go back to working with other singers and groups.
“This is the first time I was very selfish. I did U2, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and The Killers and I figured if I am going to do four or five acts with a week for each in the year, the rest of the time should be OneRepublic,” he added.
He continued by sharing, “I have spent more time in the past two years travelling for OneRepublic, being away from family and friends, so why doesn’t it deserve my 100 per cent attention. I think we can be one of the best. We have some records on this album which I think are the best songs I have done for OneRepublic.”
