Mel B to plan a ‘Spice Girls’ reunion in 2017

Mel B has revealed she has plans for a Spice Girls reunion in 2017 to celebrate the group’s 20-year anniversary.

The 41-year-old artist – who was part of the five band members – will organize a get-together with Mel C, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Geri Homer.

Speaking on Live with Kelly about regrouping the band, Scary Spice stated: “This is the thing. It is our 20th anniversary this year and this would be the perfect year, but places get booked out so what we’ll hopefully do is plan to do something to celebrate next year. But it’s something that we want to do and it will be nice to celebrate and give something back to the fans. I’m not getting any younger.”

Meanwhile, the remaining members are also in talks for a limited television series to follow them on the road and document their celebration.

A source had previously said: “The Spice Girls comeback is the big story in pop so it’s no wonder the girls want to maximise their popularity.”

The insider continued: “There is certainly a big audience for it. BBC, ITV and Sky will no doubt be fighting it out for the rights. The girls are always good value, so there will be plenty of material.”

However, some speculate that bandmates Mel C and Victoria Beckham won’t join as they gather footage from the recording studio and relive old memories. It is rumored that the two have never had interest in making a comeback.

In the meantime, Mel B continues a busy schedule as a judge on America’s Got Talent.
