Camila Alves says she stopped having children with husband Matthew McConaughey to focus on her business, consisting of frozen baby food.
The 34-year-old entrepreneur promised to put family on hold until her idea, known as Yummy Spoonfuls, was fully operational.
“The journey for me started every time I had a baby I was like, ‘I have to do this as a business. This is like you know … we have to do this.’ And then I’d get pregnant again and forget about it. Then on my third one I said, ‘I’m not getting pregnant again. I’m doing this as a business.’” Alves explained to E! News.
She is currently managing the business while her home is renovated to make additional space for arts and crafts with her three kids.
“We’re doing construction in the house, so I don’t have an office now. I don’t have a working space, so I’m really in the middle of the kitchen and all of it. We’re laughing, because we’re doing an arts and crafts project and I’m in the middle of all of it. We had my cat on top of it, by dog was on the other side, my daughter was jumping in on other things helping out,” the Brazilian model and designer explained.
Meanwhile, son Levi has expressed interest in his mother’s business and occasionally helps her with new recipes.
“My oldest son is all about cooking, so he’s coming up with different recipes that he can serve that night.”
Alves already has three children, but may expand her family further as time allows. Yummy Spoonfuls is sold exclusively at Target in the United States with the help of partner Agatha Achindu.
