Comedy Central to roast Rob Lowe this summer

Like many personalities before him, Comedy Central is getting ready to bring on the next star to be willingly ridiculed.

Rob Lowe, 52, signed up for the humorous event which features comics and other famous faces from the entertainment industry. Previous celebrities include Justin Bieber, Charlie Sheen, Drew Carey, Pamela Anderson, William Shatner, and many more.

Comedy Central announced the news on Twitter, stating, “From Chiseled to Shattered. Get ready Rob Lowe, the #LoweRoast is coming this summer.”

Network president Kent Alterman said in a statement, “Rob Lowe is handsome, talented, successful and handsome. He needs to be roasted.”

Lowe added, “What a thrill to once again be following in Justin Bieber’s footsteps. I look forward to a night of hilarious jokes recycled from the James Franco Roast. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of my family who have passed away and therefore will not have to endure what promises to be a very special evening.”

Lowe has been happily married to Sheryl Berkoff for 25 years. Their relationship made it through Lowe’s past alcohol addiction and a sex tape with an under-aged girl.

Through all of it, he is still one of the most loved actors and even pokes fun at himself regarding some of his past actions. Many speculate that these past skeletons will surface during the Comedy Central special event, along with other aspects from his personal life.

Lowe recently starred as Father Jude Sutton on the NBC comedic drama You, Me and the Apocalypse. Although Lowe’s character committed suicide, his short-lived role as a chain-smoking, foul-mouthed priest led to the show continuing for a second season in 2016.

No premiere date has yet been scheduled.
