Mariah Carey sheds light on children, new romance, and food shopping

Songstress Mariah Carey recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about the latest events surrounding her personal life.

When asked about family, the diva expressed she tries her best to make things as close to perfect as possible for her two children, Moroccan and Monroe. She also admitted they frustrate her at times.

“They have strong personalities [and] they are pretty amazing. They make me laugh. They frustrate me sometimes. But they are great. I can’t make things perfect for them but I try my hardest to always make them happy.”

The 46-year-old also admitted she does not do her own food shopping due to bad lighting found at typical grocery stores and supermarkets. “It’s pretty bad lighting in the grocery store. Have you noticed it’s fluorescent lighting?” the singer added.

After her and Nick Cannon started divorce proceedings, she met Australian billionaire James Packer. The two got engaged in January and hope to tie the knot this year, although she acknowledges to have a lot on her plate at the moment.

Ex-husband Nick Cannon has reportedly refused to sign off divorce papers, which has prevented the Fantasy and Hero hit singer from moving forward.

When Carey met Packer, she wasn’t looking for a new beau, but suggested sparks flew between the two after spending time together. “We were talking and having a good time and I was like, ‘This guy is really fun.’ So it was nice,” she added about her now-fiancé.
