Utah man claims object he found is fossilized skull that proves existence of Bigfoot

Todd May lives in Ogden, Utah, a hot spot for Bigfoot sightings. In 2013 he was excited to find a 75-pound object on a recent hike which he claims may be the fossilized skull of one of the mysterious apelike creatures, and says that he has found the proof people have been waiting for that Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, actually exists.

May has had a long interest in Bigfoot, and claims that he has seen one on two different occasions. He said the first time it looked like an ape that appeared out of nowhere, then ran off a few seconds later. May started visiting Ogden Canyon more often, hoping to spot another. He says when he would visit a particular hot springs in the area he would often be pelted with rocks.

He saw the second creature a year later, while hiking at night with a flashlight. He said it was red-furred, and much larger than the first, 8 to 10 feet tall. It stared at May from about 20 feet away, then walked off.

A couple months later, when May was in the same area, he saw something that looked like a handprint on top of a rounded surface. He dug up the object and saw something that looked like a head, with the “same facial structure as the creatures I had seen.”

May has been touring the country with the object. Jesse Carlucci, Assistant Professor at the Kimball School of Geoscience at Midwestern State University said he looked at it, and it is, without a doubt, a rock. “Often, the natural fractures or joints in the rock are sites of increased weathering, where you have these types of depressions form. It’s not Bigfoot,” he said.

Hundreds of people have given their opinion on May’s findings. “There’s haters out there,” he said. “Other Bigfoot enthusiasts that don’t like that I found something first.”

Carlucci said that fossil skulls are extremely fragile, and the bone that formed them has a different texture and composition than May’s object.
