Blake Shelton makes shocking, heartwarming confession about Gwen Stefani

In an interview scheduled to air May 21 on CMT, Blake Shelton made a confession about Gwen Stefani that shocked many around him. As it turns out, the stars had recently gone through a divorce but found each other again on The Voice.

In the interview with Katie Cook, Shelton stated, “It’s not something anybody could’ve seen coming besides God I guess because it doesn’t look like it would make sense. All I can tell you is that it does. It just makes the most perfect sense for us and where we’re at in our lives.”

Unlike many other celebrity couples, the two don’t hide their romance from the media and the general public. During the interview, Shelton further revealed to Cook, “I tell people all the time, ‘Gwen saved my life last year.’ She did. I think she’d tell you something similar about me.”

He continued, “Even coming into [her] second season [working on] The Voice, I didn’t even really know her that well. All of a sudden this thing just happened because of some things we were going through and it saved my life, period.”

They performed their new duet, Go Ahead and Break My Heart, on The Voice earlier this month, which drew even more interest and speculation. The singer then told Cook, “There’s just been such media craze around us being together, I think that’s why there’s been a lot of views.”

Finally, he also confessed to have started writing the song last year and sent it to Stefani via text in a voice memo to impress her. It evidently worked, and according to him, the two can’t get enough of each other.
