Sinead O’Connor reported missing in Chicago (Updated)

Update: Sinead O’Connor has since been located and is reportedly safe, police say.

As of this Monday morning, singer Sinead O’Connor has been reported missing with little to no information regarding her whereabouts.

Wilmette Police Department released a statement: “The Wilmette Police is seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O’Connor. O’Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00 a.m. and has not returned. A caller has expressed concern for her well-being, and no other information is available at this time.”

TMZ had initially reported that the 49-year-old singer was classified as “Missing suicidal.” An anonymous caller informed police that O’Connor went out for a ride in a Chicago Suburb at 1 p.m. on Sunday and had not yet returned the bicycle. The news outlet further reported she was last spotted on a Raleigh motorized bicycle wearing a black parka, leather pants, and a sweatshirt.

O’Connor had recently admitted to struggling with mental health over the past several years. She had canceled an ongoing tour in 2015 after suffering from exhaustion due to an undisclosed medical condition. The star had also stopped all communication with her family following an overdose in a Dublin hotel room. After losing consciousness and later waking up in a local hospital, O’Connor accused her family of being hypocrites for visiting her but leaving before she woke up.

“I never wanna see you again. You stole my sons from me. Then you had hypocrisy to come to hospital and then not be here when I wake and not pick up phone?” O’Connor publicly wrote.

Other health problems include PTSD, depression, and thoughts of suicide. A spokesperson could not be reached during press time and the investigation is still ongoing.
