Deleriyes Joe Cramer, the former child actor best known for his performance on 1986’s Flight of the Navigator, was arrested for robbing a bank in British Columbia, Canada on May 1.
The 42-year-old former actor was arrested following the incident on the Scotiabank in Sechelt, which took place on Apr 28.
Cramer reportedly held up the bank with a disguise composed of a bandana and a wig. In addition to robbery, Cramer was also charged with wearing a disguise to commit an offense, while also refusing to stop for an officer of the law and dangerously conducting a motor vehicle. The latter two charges were tacked on after his attempt at a getaway.
“Despite the fact that a disguise was used during the robbery, the suspect was quickly identified by some of our officers, who had recently dealt with him on an unrelated matter,” Constable Harrison Mohr stated, who works at the Sunshine Coast Royal Canadian Mounted police station.
In fact, officers are already well familiar with Cramer due to previous offenses, as he was caught trying to cash a fake check back in 2011.
The former actor’s career failed to take off despite Flight of the Navigator’s success. Previous films include Runaway as well as I-Man. Other notable roles include The Clan of the Cave Bear (1986) and Stone Fox (1987). He went on to appear in 1996’s It’s My Party in an uncredited role. Cramer has not landed other acting gigs since his gradual decline.
