On the set of the upcoming Baywatch movie, Dwayne Johnson met a very special fan named Ryan. In an opening and closing statement attached to a photo on Instagram, Johnson said, “Thank you universe.”
The photo shows Johnson hugging the fan’s mother, who was willing to wait all day for her son to meet him, but the former wrestler wouldn’t allow them to do that.
After asking the production team to hold for a few moments, Johnson walked to the barriers where Ryan, his brother, mother and nurse were waiting. The boy’s mom was in tears and thanked the 43-year-old actor for his generosity.
Despite a busy career, the actor still enjoys moments like meeting Ryan and many other fans on a frequent basis. His Instagram captioning also reads, “I know I’m a lucky guy to be in this position and have this platform. I’m grateful and moments like this will always, ALWAYS be the best part of my job.”
After a brief meeting, Johnson felt Ryan had “waaaaaay more heart, is stronger and tougher than I could ever imagine.” He was in a wheelchair and spoke very little, but told Johnson, “I love you” using sign language.
Dwayne Johnson is well known as The Rock, who reached fame among wrestling fans mostly through the 1990s. His charisma and speaking skills led him to work in films dating as far back as 1999. Johnson even took on a variety of family-friendly roles on films such as Tooth Fairy in 2010. Other notable roles include diplomatic security service agent Luke Hobbs in The Fast and the Furious franchise.
Baywatch is scheduled for release on May 19, 2017.
