Amy Schumer makes steamy ‘Vanity Fair’ cover

Amy Schumer, the undeniably edgy comedian with a long and successful portfolio, recently posted pictures on Instagram pertaining to an apparent Vanity Fair shoot. These were posted with quirky captions while poking fun at herself.

Some of these comments included “Thanks Annie Leibovitz and Bruce Handy and @kimmykuppkakes for my hairdo and @andrea Tiller for my makeup @deborahlippmann for nails and @carriebyalick for life”. Additional comedic comments, such as “Thank you @vanityfair and Annie Leibovitz who I had to beg to take this shot” were also shared.

On the cover, Vanity Fair labeled her America’s kid sister, stating she’s smart, funny and loyal, while also being a lightening rod.

Starting with small television parts and doing stand-up since the early 2000s, Schumer auditioned and placed forth on the 2007 season of Last Comic Standing. After landing several small roles on a variety of shows such as 30 Rock, she continued to build steam and popularity among comedy enthusiasts.

As of 2014, she has been nominated for and won a variety of awards for her comedic performance.

Although praised for her subversive feminism in her comedic performances, Schumer has been in the spotlight because of her weight, which she took on without any apologies. In fact, some say this led to her being named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2015.

Schumer was also included in Barbara Walters’ list of 10 Most Fascinating People the same year.
