The body of 14-year-old Adriana Coronado was found last Wednesday in a field near the Sam Houston Parkway in west Houston. She was identified last Friday through fingerprint verification, as the body was already decomposing. The girl, whose father was found dead last Sunday, was shot multiple times. She had been the subject of an Amber Alert.
Adriana was last seen on Saturday, March 12, in Katy, a Houston suburb. Police realized she was missing while they were investigating the death of her father, Caesar Vladimir Coronado, whose burned body was found last Monday, March 14, in a rural part of Walker County. He had been shot and his truck burned with the body inside.
Investigators from the Walker County sheriff’s office believe the girl witnessed her father’s murder before she was killed. Coronado’s Ford F-150 appears in a surveillance video from Conroe on Sunday night that shows a man running from the burning pickup. Another video shows a man running down a nearby alley and into a parking lot.
The videos were released Thursday in the hope that someone can identify the man seen on screen. Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae said investigators believe that speaking to the man will be crucial in solving the case. The video shows that the man may have been picked up by a dark-colored SUV.
Both deaths have been ruled homicide. No motive is known in the two murder cases.
