The officials in Minnesota revealed recently that the top turkey producer of the country has found fatal bird flu strain in the eighth flock in the period of just a little more than a month. A team of epidemiologists has already arrived at the spot in order to investigate the source of disease and how it is spreading.

Five cases of H5N2 flu have detected at Minnesota. This is the kind of flu that is attributed to eradicate the complete poultry flock in the span of just two days.
Since the start of 2015, the backyard flocks and the commercial operations of poultry in various states, including Arkansas and Washington and the ones that lie in between these, have been found to be infected, with fatal strains of the flu. This in turn has kept away the overseas buyers from importing the U.S. poultry products. These buyers have trimmed and limited their purchase from the companies such as Pilgrim’s Pride Corp and Tyson Foods Inc.
According to Canadian Food Inspection Agency, both Taiwan as well as Japan have put in the trade restrictions on U.S. poultry after a case of bird flu was found in their province.
Minnesota, which is located westwards of Minneapolis, is the top-most turkey producing country. The U.S. Department of Agriculture epidemiologists went to investigate how the root, i.e., the virus is entering the flocks of turkey. The increase in the number of bird flu cases and the infections gave alarms to the state officials who in turn sought assistance from the U.S. Government.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture believes that the flu is being sourced through the migratory birds. However, it is still not known how the virus transported from the wild birds to the poultry flock.
No human has been found to be infected with the flu as of now.
