The wow moments of 2015 Grammy Awards: Sam Smith speech, Barack Obama’s message, and Wiz Khalifa’s Son

LOS ANGELES: Glitz and glamour were at its best at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles bringing together some of the finest and upcoming talents in the entertainment scenery. The brightest of stars won big with the shocker of the evening coming from Becks walking away with the album of the year for his album Morning phase. Becks album subdued an exquisite list of the likes of Beyoncé Sam Smith, Pharrell and Ed Sheeran.

The wow! Moments were also in plenty led by Sam Smith giving a keynote speech on his treacherous road into winning four awards on the day. The script however was written that Beyoncé, Pharrell and Rosanne Cash were not to walk on the global stage without an award, all scooping three Grammys a piece on the big night.

As the audience was getting settled for the day, Kanye West walked on the stage when the award for the best album of the year was being announced as if he was going to repeat the famous spoof of Taylor Swift in 2009 at the MTV music awards. West quickly retreated, cameras all glazing at him to the laughter of the audience.

Plenty of cleavage was on offer from sassy Kim Kardashian who showed off her new shorter locks while dressing a Paul Gautier gown with Kanye West right beside her on the red carpet with no smiles to the cameras, as is the norm.

Pharrell also caught the attention of the fashion cops during his ‘Happy’ performance as the always fashion-forward artist came on stage with an outfit that portrayed him more of a bellboy. People on Twitter could be seen joking that he was auditioning for a role in the Grand Budapest.

Domestic violence also took center stage with ‘it’s On US’ campaign led, but President Obama calling for an end to sexual violence. Joan Rivers was also remembered on the big day with her book Diary of a Mad Diva scooping the title for the best-spoken word album.
